The next edition of Wandering Seminar is taking place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Nicolaus Copernicus University on 10-12.10.2024. As usual, our goal is to have an interesting main course and give the rest of the time slots to the young mathematicians, who want to share their results or what they work on with the community. This time the main course is going to be given by Carlos Matheus (CNRS) and the title is "Degenerating Families of Schottky Groups".
The main course will be preceeded by some introductory courses given by locals, with the intention of preparing young participants and fill the blanks in knowledge required to follow the main course.
The main course is going to be given on 11th and 12th of October, while the preparatory courses are going to be given on 10th and 11th of October.
The registration to the event is available at Registration tab and is open until 4.10.2024. If You are willing to give a talk, indicate it in the registration process and provide the title and the abstract. The number of slots is limited and we will prioritize PhD students and Post-Docs in assigning the slots. If the number of applications exceeds the number of slots, we will adhere to the rule "first come, first serve". The duration of the talk should be 20-45 mins, depending on the number of candidates.
The organizers will cover lunches and coffee breaks. Moreover we can cover accommodation in double rooms in a hotel for a limited number of participants. If You are willing to use this option, indicate it in the registration form. As with the talks, the number of places is limited and the young participants will be prioritized and the rule "first come, first serve" applies here as well. You will be informed via e-mail, whether You got or did not get a place in the hotel. The organizers do not cover travel costs.
The main organizer and the sponsor of the event is The University Center of Excellence "Dynamics, Mathematical Analysis and Artificial Intelligence (https://damsi.umk.pl/en/).
